About Michael Forseth
Michael Forseth is the founder of Pilot Rise and a current Airbus A320 airline pilot. He began flying at 15, soloed at 16, and completed his training through Part 61.
He used his certificates as college credit at Liberty University, where he earned a Bachelor of Aviation Science. He later flew the CRJ200 and CRJ700 for SkyWest Airlines for one year, then the Airbus A320 for Spirit Airlines for three years, and now flies the Airbus A320 for a major airline.
Michael started Pilot Rise Flight School, built PilotApproach.com, created the Pilot Rise curriculum, and developed Pilot Rise's proprietary training record system. He re-imagined how flight training could be done to improve safety, clarity, and affordability for students.
Before aviation became his full-time path, Michael worked at a local airport restaurant and as a software engineer to help pay for flight training. He is married, has twin girls, enjoys skiing, and helped build a Vans RV-7A kit aircraft.
